Aequus is a bidding and mediation platform built for app developers and publishers that allows them to manage bidding on their ad spaces with see-through analytics and reporting.

Aequus provides open and transparent mediation, agnostically picking demand for app developers’ best interest, equipping them with insights into bidding mechanics and win data.

Business challenge

While building their in-app/in-game mediation platform, Aequus set to resolve supply path problems for their clients by mapping the shortest way to quality demand, and seamlessly integrating it without latencies. Aequus was looking to develop

  • A mobile SDK with an ability to connect demand and supply partners without excessive fees and intermediary commissions
  • A scalable and high-load resistant tracker for meticulous mediation optimization

Fast and smooth team integration

New streaming functionality for live releases

Technical limitations prevented Video Intelligence from streaming video content concurrent with production studio releases. To solve this, the Xenoss team implemented a system release schedule for content that allowed for in-sync releases and gave Video Intelligence a competitive edge.

Introduction of advanced behavioral targeting to expand advertising capabilities

We built in an internal ad management solution with modules for content consumption, behavior analytics, and user segmentation for advanced ad targeting. As part of the Xenoss solution, we also constructed a new video player with support for modern HTML-based standards and enabled pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll VPAID ads.

Adaptive streaming implementation to improve user experience

We implemented adaptive streaming that enabled us to analyze client connection speed to adapt the quality of video for each viewer individually. This majorly improved overall user experience.

User-centered proprietary mobile SDK

We deployed a hybrid mobile SDK that can connect various SSPs, ad networks, and direct demand from DSPs. It can be configured directly in the interface and allows precise tuning of the waterfall. The SDK is lite, unburdening for apps, and can be effortlessly installed without any additional tweaks.

Cost-efficient lightweight tracker

Within just a month, we developed a reliable, load-resistant, and scalable tracker that operates at a low cost. It can track all the critical metrics for mediation optimization, from clicks to latencies and time-outs, conveniently visualized in the publisher’s UI.
