Client background

Aequus logo

Aequus is a bidding and mediation platform built for app developers and publishers that allows them to manage bidding on their ad spaces with see-through analytics and reporting.

Aequus provides open and transparent mediation, agnostically picking demand for app developers’ best interest, equipping them with insights into bidding mechanics and win data.

Business Challenge

While building their in-app/in-game mediation platform, Aequus set to resolve supply path problems for their clients by mapping the shortest way to quality demand, and seamlessly integrating it without latencies. Aequus was looking to develop

  • A mobile SDK with an ability to connect demand and supply partners without excessive fees and intermediary commissions
  • A scalable and high-load resistant tracker for meticulous mediation optimization
  • A creative engine for serving non-standard ad formats (VAST, rewarded video, mobile rich media ads, interstitials etc.)

Xenoss Solution

A hybrid mediation ecosystem with a unique feature set, built with the Xenoss low-code platform for MarTech

Xenoss low-code development platform for MarTech

The team utilized some components of our proprietary MarTech platform to speed up the development of solution infrastructure. The high seniority of software engineers and architects let us keep the team relatively small, which also helped significantly reduce development cost and time-to-market.

Fast and smooth team integration

Our AdTech expertise allowed us to quickly assess client needs, offer a solution, and establish transparent communication to accelerate the development process. We built a high-performance team that effortlessly integrated with the client’s in-house team.

Supply path optimization

We deployed the infrastructure for a flexible hybrid ecosystem. Besides standard capabilities of connecting the SDK to exchanges and ad networks, we added a feature for plugging-in direct demand from external DSPs.

Creative rendering engine

To enable quality ad serving from direct demand, we implemented a creative rendering engine for video ads (VAST) and Html MRAID creatives. As a result, apps can serve ads without latencies and time-out from direct advertisers without sharing the revenues with go-betweens.

From-scratch development of platform capabilities

User-centered proprietary mobile SDK

We deployed a hybrid mobile SDK that can connect various SSPs, ad networks, and direct demand from DSPs. It can be configured directly in the interface and allows precise tuning of the waterfall. The SDK is lite, unburdening for apps, and can be effortlessly installed without any additional tweaks.

Cost-efficient lightweight tracker

Within just a month, we developed a reliable, load-resistant, and scalable tracker that operates at a low cost. It can track all the critical metrics for mediation optimization, from clicks to latencies and time-outs, conveniently visualized in the publisher’s UI.

SDK supports

iOS, Android, Unity

The platform supports ad serving of the most technically demanding formats: VAST, rewarded video, MRAID.

Over 100 metrics

The system tracks all the necessary parameters for configuring effective publisher monetization (advertising events, creative events, SDK, and networks interactions).

15 bidding SDKs, 10 network SDKs

Xenoss’ experience in AdTech allowed us to quickly integrate Aequus SDK into the mediation landscape, connecting the leading ad networks and SSPs to its ecosystem.

3 months

We developed a lightweight tracking system within just 1 month and deployed the fully-functional mobile SDK in 3 months.

200 QPS under $10K

The Xenoss team built a high-performance and load-resistant infrastructure capable of serving 200 QPS for under $10K monthly.

6 people

With the low-code platform for MarTech, it took only two back-end developers to put together the infrastructure. Two mobile developers, as well as two QA engineers, aided them with integration and testing.
