Role description

We are seeking a person to drive AI implementation initiatives in the insurance domain. You will engage with business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities, define requirements, manage proof-of-concept validations, and coordinate full-scale project delivery. This role bridges business needs with technical execution, ensuring AI-driven solutions transform enterprise operations.

About the Project

The client is a global speciality insurance and reinsurance provider focused on leveraging AI to solve critical business challenges across their operations.

Projects will focus on developing web-based applications that address specific business problems using AI capabilities, primarily:

  • Document data extraction (processing insurance documents, claims, policies)
  • Data summarisation (condensing complex information for decision-making)

Your work will involve identifying new use cases across departments, validating them through POCs, and scaling successful solutions into production applications that directly impact business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Consultation

  • Engage directly with business stakeholders across departments (Underwriting, Operations, IT, Analytics, Marketing, etc.) to understand current processes and challenges.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to identify pain points and assess opportunities for AI solutions.
  • Lead workshops and brainstorming sessions to uncover advanced AI use cases
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing clear insights into how AI applications can solve complex business challenges
  • Evaluate the feasibility and business value of potential AI implementations

Requirements definition & Solution design

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Elicit, analyse, and document detailed business and functional requirements for enterprise AI applications
  • Lead the design and documentation of user stories, business use cases, process flows, data flows, and system integrations
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of current-state processes and identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements
  • Translate business goals into solution requirements that align with organisational objectives
  • Partner with data science, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure requirements support AI model development and deployment

POC & Project Management

  • Design and oversee proof-of-concept initiatives to validate AI solutions
  • Coordinate POC execution with technical teams
  • Present POC results to business and IT stakeholders for approval
  • Drive the transition from successful POCs to full-scale project implementation
  • Support project management activities: tracking deliverables, managing timelines, ensuring scope adherence
  • Monitor project progress and coordinate the resolution of issues with technical teams
  • Ensure deliverables remain on track and meet organisational strategic objectives

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Business Analysis/Product Manager: 5-7 years
  • Project Manager: 3+ years in a lead or senior BA capacity
  • English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2) minimum for stakeholder communication

Technical Acumen

  • Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation for complex technical solutions
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies and their practical application in business processes
  • Proficiency in creating detailed documentation: user stories, process models, data flows, integration diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and tools (TFS, Rally, Jira)
  • Proficiency in process modelling tools (e.g., Visio)
  • Experience with data visualisation tools

Business knowledge

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand complex processes quickly
  • Consultative mindset with proven stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

  • Insurance Industry: Experience in Property & Casualty or Specialty insurance is highly desirable, but not mandatory
  • Policy Administration Systems: Familiarity with platforms like Guidewire PolicyCenter is a plus

Tools & platforms

  • Familiarity with AI development platforms and cloud-based solutions
