Position Summary:

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the successful execution of complex programs and initiatives across the organization. This role requires an individual with exceptional leadership skills who can manage multiple projects, ensure alignment with organizational goals, and deliver results on time and within budget. The Program Manager is expected to work closely with stakeholders in the development and product groups and become highly involved in the details necessary to make proper program decisions. The Program Manager will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including customer services, sales, and marketing to define program objectives, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in the overall execution of the program.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in project/program management or a related role.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large, complex software programs.
    • Technical background and/or ability to make informed program decisions based off technical discussions strongly preferred.
    • Experience working in a matrixed organization and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, ability to inspire and motivate others.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, in some cases without direct authority.
    • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software. Preference for SmartSheets, JIRA.
    • PMP, PgMP, or similar project/program management certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
    • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple large-scale programs.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, ensuring clear alignment between the development, product, services, sales, finance, and marketing organizations.
    • Engage with executive leadership to provide regular updates on program KPIs, risks, forecasted trajectories, and business/customer impacts.
  • Project Management & Execution:
    • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of projects within the program, including program increment (PI) planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope by staying highly engaged with the delivery team and diving into the lower-level details to make the proper program decisions.
    • Track and help to resolve cross-team dependencies by understanding the needs of every project or group and facilitating remediation.
    • Proactively identify and manage program risks, developing mitigation strategies to address issues before escalation.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
    • Lead post-program evaluations and retrospectives, capturing lessons learned and sharing best practices across the organization.
