Job Summary:

The Jira Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and optimizing Jira to support project management, Agile workflows, and team collaboration. This role ensures Jira is structured to meet the organization’s needs, integrates effectively with other tools, and provides reliable reporting and automation solutions. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in Jira administration, an understanding of Agile methodologies, and experience customizing Atlassian products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Jira, including configuring workflows, fields, screens, dashboards, permissions, and notifications.
• Customize Jira to support Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and project management best practices.
• Develop and manage integrations between Jira and other tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack, ServiceNow, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and maintain automation rules using Jira Automation, scripting (e.g., Groovy, ScriptRunner), and REST APIs.
• Design and generate custom reports and dashboards to provide visibility into team performance and project health.
• Manage user accounts, groups, and roles to ensure appropriate access control and security.
• Provide end-user training and documentation to enhance adoption and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, perform upgrades, and implement performance optimizations.
• Support governance policies, compliance requirements, and change management processes related to Jira administration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and business leaders, to continuously improve Jira usage and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator, Atlassian Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
• Experience with Jira customization, including workflows, fields, permissions, and automation.
• Familiarity with Jira add-ons like ScriptRunner, Advanced Roadmaps, and BigPicture.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Groovy or Python for Jira automation.
• Experience integrating Jira with third-party applications via REST APIs and webhooks.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
• Strong experience with change management processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to support cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or equivalent certification.
• Experience with database queries (SQL) and reporting tools (e.g., eazyBI, Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with ITSM and ITIL processes within Jira Service Management.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline integrations with Jira.
